What sits in a hydrant pump room
Duty and standby hydrant pumps, a smaller jockey pump to hold pressure, pressure switches, a diesel or electric controller, and the riser to landing valves. Hose reel cabinets are a sibling system — see hose reel pump.
Fire Code / SS 575 testing intervals belong to the building’s fire-safety regime. We work as the M&E contractor on the rotating equipment and controls. Your PE or registered fire contractor remains responsible for statutory certificates where the building requires them.
